Energy

  • Biomasse

          Use of wood: wood energy is still the predominant fuel in households, i.e. 98.5% of the population of the department: 

    •  Firewood, 2021 estimate: 30,840 tonnes; 
    •  Charcoal, 2021 estimate: 5,203 tonnes;
  • Potential electricity production : construction of hydroelectric micro-dam
  • Current status No high voltage line

Communication

  • Access to mobile networks : MTN 4G
  • Fiber optic : installation project.

Hydrography

  Département est doté d’un réseau hydrographique comprenant deux grands cours d’eau:

  • The Oubangui (tributaries: the Ibanga and the Motaba);
  • The Likouala with herbs (tributaries: the Ilobi, the Moundongouma and the Bali on its right bank, the Tanga and the Batanga on the left bank)

Agriculture

Done in the forest zone of Impfondo, Dongou and Epéna:

  • Cassava;
  • Banana
  • Plantain ;
  • Taros;
  • Cereals ;
  • Legumes.

Basic cocoa and coffee crops are grown in Epéna and Dongou.

Livestock and fishing

The industrial activity developed in the department:

The department is served by three modes of transportation :

      • RN15: Impfondo-Liranga
    •  Departmental roads :
      • RD1: Impfondo (IntRN15) – Epena
  • River transport 

       Inside the department:

    • Motaba navigable to Bangui-Motaba
    • Ibenga navigable from Boyélé to Mampoutou;

       To reach the department from Brazzaville (about 1000 km)

       By the Congo River then Oubangui (from the ports of Bétou, Dongou, Impfondo, Liranga)
