    The Congo is open to the outside thanks to its 170 km long coastline, and its deep water port : 15.50 meters the largest in Central Africa<\/b><\/p>

    • Regular lines<\/b><\/li><\/ul>

      The basic transport cost depends on the type of goods. For maritime transport, the pricing basis is 1 tonne = m3. The cost of transport is established in paying unit (PU).<\/p>

      For conventional shipments (bags, boxes, etc.), the freight is often established for a given trip, at the Paying Unit (PU). This paying unit is the tonne or the cubic meter, to the \"transporter's advantage\" (for maritime transport, the pricing basis is therefore 1 tonne = 1 m3). The expression \"for the benefit of the carrier\" means that you will pay on the basis of the greater of the two figures of the mass in tonnes and the volume in m3. Thus, a shipment of 5 m3 and 4 tons will be paid 5 UP, and a shipment of 3m3 and 4 tons will be paid 4 UP. We will say that the goods travel \"light\" in the first case, \"heavy\" in the second.<\/p>

      High value merchandise is taxed on the basis of its value.<\/p>

      • \u00a0Charter<\/b><\/li><\/ul>

        Basic freight is in principle freely negotiated. These rates never cover the loading and unloading carried out at the expense and risk of the charterer unless otherwise indicated \"hook to hook\" which then means loading\/unloading included. In addition, it will sometimes be necessary to add the costs linked to an immobilization of the boat greater than what is authorized (the owner of the ship limits the immobilization times of the boat to 24 hours once arrived at the port of embarkation or destination. The loading or unloading must be carried out within this period in order to prevent his\/her boat from remaining too long at the quay through the fault of the charterer.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
