PHYSICAL GEOGRAPHY

Geographical area

Located in the northern hemisphere straddling the equator

Rather wavy relief. It is more integrated into the belt of the plateaus than into that of the Bassin of Cuvette. 
Highest point is Mount Amaya (700 meters). 
Rainfall (The rainy season lasts about 10 and a half months)
River drained by several streams, the largest of which are the Mpama, the Lékéti and the Alima 

Forest occupying a large part of the department, 

Shrub and tree savannahs as well as gallery forests along the watercourses in its southern part 

Type of soil quite favorable to the practice of agriculture.
